Exploratory Tools
Most modern methods used to study protein function don’t work well at solid interfaces. We aim to develop new tools that function in this important space, enabling both the study and engineering of protein behavior at the surface of solids.
Biotech Solutions
Solid interfaces are found everywhere in industry, medicine, and the environment. Using synthetic biology principles, we will develop biotechnological solutions to real world problems such as plastic-degrading enzymes and medical monitoring devices.
Building Understanding
By understanding the space in which we work, we can better design biochemical tools. By retroactively studying these tools, we can improve our understanding of how they function. This cyclical process will lead us forward, with progress driving progress.
